NEW YORK – Texas governor Rick Perry should stop and think about what he’s saying, as his standpoints are not helping him in his race for American presidency. Amplicate data shows that Perry lost a staggering 37 percent of support among social media users between the first and third week of August. With negative opinions rising for over 70 percent, the presidential race might as well be over if Perry’s camp doesn’t make some changes.
Perry, who was announced as the Republican candidate to challenge Barack Obama in the next presidential election, wrote a 191 page book called “Fed Up! Our Fight to Save America from Washington, in November. Months ago, the book was almost completely bypassed by the public eye, but now that Perry is competing for presidency, the ideas expressed in it are raising eyebrows.
In the book, Perry blames liberal policies for the state in which America is in today, saying that things like social welfare, constitutionality of federal laws on food safety, minimum wages, bans on child labor, environmental protection and last but not leas, Obama’s Medicare, are all financially weighing down the country and thus making it impossible for the Government to work.
One thing is for sure: Perry’s antics are not winning the voters over. After his standpoint was revealed, the american voters jumped on their feet and questioned if this person, the governor of Texas, is being serious. The negative sentiments on Perry went through the roof, leaving him with 50 percent of social media users hating him.
With America being stuck on an economic downward spiral and the overall quality of life falling across the country, who will vote for a president who stands to cut the little welfare the people have left (and have grown dependent on)?
Now Obama might not be the most popular guy out there, but if this is the best the Republicans can come up with, this particular election shouldn’t be much of a contest.
